Are we, or are the fast companies the cause of obesity in America? This question has been asked for many years and is getting more and more serious. For the obese people, they say it is the fast food companies, and the fast food companies say it is the people. I feel that it is both people and the companies, because the people don’t have to eat there and the companies could make their good a little healthier.

“Nearly one-third (30 percent) of California’s teenagers are overweight or obese.” This statistic is horrible and has increased more and more over the years. This in some cases is not the kids fault, but the parents. “Research shows teens are more likely to consume fast good, soda if parent do.” The parents could also be lazy and never cook home cooked meals. This being said, the kids have a very little choice on how they eat. In this case it is a little more our fault, but families don’t want to cook sometimes and should be able to get a healthy meals instead of a big pile of fat.

Food companies have grown and grown over the past years as well as that it is getting out of control. You can’t be more then 100miles away anywhere in America from a fast food place. “For example, in 1970 the four largest meatpacking companies slaughtered about 21 percent of Americas cattle; today the four largest companies slaughter about 85 percent. “ This is a huge growth and will keep on getting bigger if we don’t do something about it. The bad food out there is becoming almost the only kind of food you can get because the fast food companies will almost stop at nothing.
